J. Hopper Art - Dendrochronology - Medium Canvas
Original canvas artwork by J. Hopper, an artist who later worked in Tucson, Arizona. Titled Dendrochronology, the composition draws inspiration from the concentric growth rings visible in a cross-section of a tree trunk. The compact organic image is framed by an expansive ivory ground, creating a meditative balance between natural pattern, geometric structure, and negative space.
Hopper was known for his disciplined, research-driven approach to art and design. His thoughtful methodology is reflected in the work’s carefully organized composition, restrained palette, and exploration of time and growth through natural forms.
Created on traditional artist’s canvas stretched over a wooden frame and presented unframed. Each is an individual original, signed and dated 2015 by the artist on the reverse.
