Maria Boavida Painting
Maria Boavida paints a lone swimmer adrift in deep blue water, the whole scene contained within the outline of a glass jar, a quiet visual trick that turns a simple figure study into something stranger and more memorable. The palette stays warm and restrained, skin tones and gentle wave lines doing most of the work rather than bold color. Framed in walnut, the small scale suits a reading nook, a bathroom wall, or anywhere a quieter piece has room to be noticed up close.
