Molten Aluminum Sand Cast Mirrors by Mattia Biagi
Mattia Biagi sand casts these mirrors in molten aluminum, a process where metal is poured directly into sand molds, leaving each surface with the organic, slightly cratered texture unique to that casting. No two mirrors come out exactly alike, since the sand shifts a little differently every time. Sourced through Wolf Contemporary, the Palm Springs gallery known for contemporary design, the trio spans three sizes, small, medium, and large, so they can be grouped together on a wall or used individually as a sculptural accent with genuine reflective function.
