Oaxaca Hedgehog Vase
Handcrafted from clay in Baja Sur, Mexico, the Oaxaca Hedgehog Vase takes its name from the ring of twelve spikes radiating from its rounded body, a playful, almost creature-like silhouette that sets it apart from more conventional vessel forms. Each spike is shaped and attached individually by hand, giving the arrangement a slightly irregular, organic rhythm rather than a perfectly even spacing. The clay itself carries a rich, artisanal texture underneath the spikes, left largely unglazed so the natural material stays visible and tactile across the surface. At just over a foot across, the vase has enough scale to serve as a standalone sculptural object, holding its own on a console or floor pedestal whether filled with a single dramatic branch or left entirely empty.
