Signed Japanese Modernist Vase [VINTAGE]
This Japanese modernist vase is hand-chiseled into faceted planes that catch and scatter light differently depending on the angle, the top half washed in matte brown before descending into a high-gloss black glaze that pools in the surface's crevices. That irregular geometry evokes hand-carved stone or segmented bamboo, grounding the piece in both craft tradition and modernist abstraction. Vintage condition consistent with its age. At over eight inches tall, its faceted silhouette reads as a genuine sculptural object, equally compelling empty or holding a single graphic stem on a console or shelf.
