Bizen Ware Jar by Master Kaneshige Sozan [VINTAGE]
An exceptional, medium sized Bizen ware tsubo (storage jar) crafted by the revered 20th-century master Kaneshige Sozan (1909-1995). This unglazed stoneware vessel serves as a masterclass in traditional Japanese atmospheric wood-firing. True to the finest Bizen traditions, the exterior showcases a breathtaking array of natural kiln mutations (yohen). Streaked with heavy, cascading waterfalls of golden goma (natural sesame-ash glaze), seamlessly fused into the clay over a multi-day pine wood firing.
This standalone piece boasts high-contrast flame markings that represent the peak aesthetic style of the Kaneshige lineage.
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
