Twisted Silhouette Vase by Amy Li-Chuan Chang [VINTAGE]
An incredibly early piece from Taiwanese ceramic artist, Amy Li-Chuan Chang from her Canadian studio work in the mid 1990's. This hand-built twist vase showcases her foundational studio training in geometric slab construction and natural surface texturing. A beautiful example of the artist's transition period into the Pacific Northwest art scene.
Chang, a highly regarded contemporary ceramic artist was born and raised in Taiwan and relocated to Vancouver, BC in 1995 to further her ceramic practice and art education. She is widely known today for her complex, slip-cast surrealist sculptures blending organic and industrial machine elements.
Excellent vintage condition with minor surface wear and no visible chips or cracks. Signed and dated by the artist.
