Lava Figure Vessel
Bjarni Sigurdsson builds this vessel around an abstract hourglass silhouette, its surface worked into a richly cratered, volcanic texture that reads as much like an ancient standing stone as a ceramic object. At over seventeen inches tall, it has genuine floor or pedestal presence, closer to a sculptural totem than a functional vessel. Handmade in Iceland, it captures the raw, elemental quality of the island's volcanic landscape directly in its surface rather than through any applied decoration, working well as a singular statement piece in a room that can give it space.
